About Guitar Fret Wire - Premium WIDE-MEDIUM

This premium WIDE-MEDIUM stainless steel fret wire is both beautiful and extremely durable, a perfect finishing touch for your special build or re-fretting job! Stainless Steel is just about the hardest type of fretwire you can get, and people who use it say it gives a silkier, smoother feel when playing than does nickel-silver fret wire. Made by the top German fret wire manufacturer, this wire set comes in nine (9) 8" lengths, pre-radiused on a 9" radius basis, which will help keep those ends down when you are installing it. This wire has a nice wide crown and medium height - see the exact specs below. This wire will fit nicely into a .023" fret slot, which is pretty much the standard for most modern fret wires. I also include a 2-page sheet of fretting "do's and don'ts" to help the first-time fretter get started, at no extra charge! Can be used on acoustic guitars and electric guitars, and any other stringed instrument that calls for a wider fret crown. It can also be used on cigar box guitars! The 8-inch lengths allow you to easily cut the exact lengths you need. Stainless Steel fret wire does take more attention to detail than standard nickel-silver fret wire, and is not necessarily the best choice for the first-time fretter - diamond files are recommended. See our other fret wire offerings for more "friendly" nickel-silver fret wire options. Here are the technical specs on this fret wire (see the photo diagram for more info): Technical Specs: Crown Height: .047" (1.19mm) Crown Width: .104" (2.64mm) Tang Depth: .061" (1.55mm) * Please note that tolerance on fret wire piece length is +/- 1/8" (.125").
