Where this pedal is most at home is with the gain at 12 'o' clock or higher. At 12 'o' clock you get some brilliant hard rock tones. With the gain set at around 9 'o' clock using a bridge position humbucker you can get some excellent classic rock tones.

Introduction: Adjust for shaping frequency response: "High", "Mid", "Low", "Boost", "Level" and "Drive" 6 control knobs, independent EQ controls, allowing you to achieve metal, rock and punk sounds. The gain from this pedal sounds like a buzz-saw at moments.. in others (mid gain) an overdriven tube amplifier that still retains definition (ala pride and joy) and when the mids are tweaked just right, you get the ska/ soul/ punk vibe that not too many distortion pedals are capable of! The pedals main forte is metal, obviously! But the pre and post gain stages offer variability that does not put this FX pedal in a single category. It easily achieves the edge you expect from a metal, high-gain distortion pedal, but also has a more delicate and brittle sound that can be dialed back (with mid, high and pre-gain tamed). Power chords absolutely growl (bass at 3 O'clock), offering serious low-end grit while extending harmonics and bite into the low mid and midrange frequency range (to your liking)! Furthermore, the true bypass wiring of the pedal means it stays clean with your other effects.
