His independent recorded works include his self-released CD, Ambient Egypt, and his radio documentary series, Lost Sounds of the Ancient Nile. Doug plays a variety of Middle Eastern hand drums, as well as string, wind and percussion instruments from the Middle East and Africa. His extensive research and scholarship on the musical instruments of ancient Middle Eastern cultures is shared with North American audiences through museum lectures and performances.
