About The Lusitania's Last Voyage

In 1915, the British ocean liner RMS Lusitania was torpedoed and sunk off the Irish coast by a German U-Boat. The event, in which a significant number of lives was lost, provoked outrage in both Britain and the United States, where many of the passengers were from. The sinking contributed to the decision of the United States to enter the war on the side of Britain.Charles E. Lauriat, Jr. was a businessman travelling on the Lusitania during its final voyage. Surviving the ordeal, he wrote an account of his experience of the event. His work also contains details of the response to the sinking in the German press, as well as details of the official British inquiry.
