Taken from rare tracks from 1924 to 1969 this unique compilation is a valuable collectors’ item. Never before has there been such a first rate release featuring this exceptional drummer who was the heartbeat of Jazz 1924-1969. So many iconic bands are featured here – Fate Marable’s Society Syncopators, Charles Creath’s Jazz-O-Maniacs - as well as the many different better-known bands of Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Pee Wee Russell, Sidney Bechet, Wilbur De Paris and many more.
