Juniper Berry is a middle note essential oil with a fresh, fruity, green, and slightly balsamic aroma. Juniper Berry Essential Oil blends well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cypress, Clary Sage, Lemon, Mandarin, Patchouli, Pink Grapefruit, Rosemary, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Scotch Pine, and Vetiver. Juniper Berry Essential Oil is distilled from the blue-colored berries grown on an evergreen shrub native to areas in the Northern Hemisphere. The essential oils that are distilled from the actual berries of the plant, rather than the needles and wood, are actually much more healing, powerful, and uplifting. Juniper Berry was one of the first aromatics used by ancient civilizations. The Ancient Greeks, the first civilization to use the oil, would use it to prevent and cure epidemics, and increase stamina, therefore, the berries would be given to their athletes during the Olympics. Native Americans would burn the oil in their cleansing ceremonies to cleanse and purify the air and spirit. Cautions: Do not use Juniper Berry for long periods of time, as it is a powerful oil and may cause damage to the body's organs. Use sparingly! However, if using in a healing blend or fragrance blend, use for about 2 weeks, then take 2 weeks off, and repeat cycle as desired.
