The Mitutoyo 342-351 Digimatic digital point micrometer is for measuring the web thickness of drills, small grooves, keyways, and other small areas that are difficult to reach. The micrometer has a measurement range of 0 to 1.0" (0 to 25.4mm), resolution of 0.00005" (0.001mm), and an accuracy of + or - 0.0001". The LCD screen displays in inches and metric units. The anvil and spindle have 15-degree points and are carbide-tipped for durability. The sleeve and thimble of this model have a satin chrome finish for corrosion-resistance and visibility. The frame of this micrometer has a hammertone baked-enamel finish for durability and a ratchet stop to help provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. This gauge is Ingress Protection certified IP65 for protection against dust and water. Additional functions offered by this model include origin set, zero setting, data hold, and alarms for low voltage and counting value composition errors. It has a battery life of approximately 1.2 years of normal use. This micrometer offers serial data output (using optional SPC cables with a data switch, sold separately), which increases speed and reliability of digital measurement records.
