This Sandvik Coromant T-Max Q-Cut 151.3 grooving insert is carbide GC1125 grade and has one cutting edge, a non-handed neutral cutting angle, and a 7G chipbreaker for face grooving and internal grooving operations on all materials at low feeds. GC1125 grade is carbide with a coating of titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) and chromium oxide (Cr2O3) applied through physical vapor deposition (PVD) that provides a balance of hardness and toughness for resistance to shock and wear in average machining conditions. A PVD coating maintains a sharper cutting edge than a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coating. The insert has a 7G chipbreaker with a wiper design that provides good chip control and finish for face grooving and internal grooving at low feed rates. This single-edged, non-handed insert has a neutral cutting angle and a groove for clamping. Tolerance of the cutting width of the insert is + 0.004 to - 0.000". Grooving inserts are coded according to their specific cutting and application capability (e.g., N123M1-0900-0008-GM).
