About Devil's Music

IF YOU SEE A TEDDYBEAR - IT'S NOT A TEDDYBEAR. WHO ARE THEY? WHAT ARE THEY? AND WHY? Was it the real Teddybears inside the gigantic bear-masks behind Robyn when she performed on David Letterman? Persistent rumors speculate that it was in fact three completely different people, one of which is a very well-known Hollywood actor. But then again, rumors also state that Nikki Sixx is not really the actual Nikki Sixx... Some things we know for sure, though: 1. Teddybears are releasing their new album Devil's Music on July 5, 2011. 2. The record includes collaborations with Wayne Coyne (of The Flaming Lips), Cee-Lo Green, The B-52's, B.o.B, Robyn and Eve among others. Devil's Music is homage to the music Teddybears love by artists like Kraftwerk, The Ramones, and Public Enemy - not decidedly one genre, but many. While some songs on the album speak to one's pop sensibilities, as on "Cardiac Arrest" featuring Robyn, the album walks a fine line that few dare. Here we see Teddybears pulling from genres as diverse as kraut rock on "Get Fresh With You," reggae on the B-52s and Cee Lo-assisted "Cho Cha" and politically charged psychedelic dance-rock with Wayne Coyne (of The Flaming Lips) on "Crystal Meth Christians." As a whole, Devil's Music strives to skew the perception of "pop" by redefining its boundaries to incorporate thought, fun, innocence, sex and ultimately dance. Teddybears will be a force of nature in 2011, whoever they are...
