About Psychographic Diaries & Field Studies 1999-2001

Product Description a collection of songs about beer, family structure, birthday parties, abortion clinics, and other social indequacies. "This project serves as a candid outlet for the grim reality of everyday sentiments from hotel rooms and morning afters to nostalgic memories of heartache- without a trace of sappiness." Wonka Vision Magazine May/June 2002 Review "sometimes quiet...sometimes loud...always beautiful." -- Matt Arbogast (The Gunshy) From the Artist i enjoy natty ice and outdoor installations. my future musical plans include a record of children's songs. i don't think i'm gonna reprint this record. so i guess it means if you have a few bucks, swing it and put food on my table. we'll help each other out. that's what it's all about. i'm also on a quest to master a rock sound that is "kitsch". About the Artist the impetus for starting the encaustics came from an idea for a college senior art project. the intention was to produce a soundtrack to accompany a series of publicly displayed slide shows of encaustic paintings depicting the birth of zebras. unfortunately, the encaustic paintings never reached fruition, but the original songs were salvaged and re-recorded later to form a compilation (psychographic diaries and field studies) which served as the encaustics' debut release. the encaustics' sound is best described as a pop/rock template with an acoustical foundation that has been taken apart and glued back together again, producing a new and original form that incorporates bits and pieces of different genres, including shades of folk and indie pop. this cross-breeding of various sounds and styles gives birth to a wholly unique, intriguing sound that has come to epitomize the artistry of the encaustics.
