Adjust the screw so that the sliding guide is next to the folded edge of your fabric. As you sew, guide the folded edge along the sliding guide. For a professional looking hem fold the fabric, reducing the lip to a scant 0.3cm . As you sew, the right hand stitch will fall off the fabric edge forming a chain stitch.
