Our vines are sheltered in the foothills of Carter's mountain in the Blue Ridge, Virginia. The red varieties were planted on the mountain's southern exposure slopes, including the clay strata. This Rosé from 100% Merlot is made using both direct pressing of merlot as well as bleeding methods . The grapes were allowed to macerate in the press for a few hours before pressing the juice into tank. Just after pressing, the juice was cold settled and fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks. Aging in 100% stainless steel preserves the wine's freshness.
