About A Book Of Hours: Henri Nouwen

About the Author Henri J. M. Nouwen (1932-1996) is the author of Reaching Out, The Wounded Healer, Making All Things New, The Return of the Prodigal Son, and many other bestsellers. He taught at the universities of Harvard, Yale, and Notre Dame before becoming the senior pastor of L'Arche Daybreak in Toronto, Canada, a community where men and women with intellectual disabilities and their assistants create a home for one another. Awarding-winning writer Robert Waldron is a distinguished commentator on modern spirituality. He is the recipient of four N.E.H. fellowships and the author of ten books, including two works of fiction. Now retired from teaching, he lectures and conducts Merton, Nouwen, and "Poetry as Prayer" retreats. He resides in Boston, Massachusetts. Product Description A beautiful compilation based on the writings of Henri Nouwen, one of the greatest spiritual teachers of our time. Nouwen spent his life helping people respond to the universal “yearning for love, unity and communion that doesn’t go away.” He probed deeply at the meaning of living a spiritual life that embraces pain and suffering in ourselves and in the world, yet nevertheless gives us freedom to love deeply wherever we are. More than a prayer book, Henri Nouwen: A Book of Hours, if followed faithfully, helps structure our daily routine with prayer; thus, not only sanctifying our relationship with God, but also sanctifying the minutes and hours of each day. It is edited and compiled by Robert Waldron.
