From the Author We have dedicated a large portion of the last three years of our lives to discussing the Forrest Fenn book, The Thrill of the Chase, and his treasure hunt on our YouTube channel, agypsyskiss.tv. Our community grew to almost 7000 subscribers who joined us each week to delve into the intricacies of everything related to that treasure hunt. In July 2019, we hid our own small treasure near the Fennboree event at Hyde Park just outside Santa Fe. The people who looked for our treasure were so excited and happy to actually find something, they wanted the fun to continue. Our good friends, Sarah and Brad Kinser brought us many items they wanted to include in our treasure chest. We had purchased a brass chest of Chinese dragon design and would fill it with a variety of collectible and unique objects. The plan was to hide it and share the hunt with everyone during Fennboree 2020. Then the Covid-19 Virus pandemic changed those plans. On June 6, 2020, Forrest Fenn announced that his treasure had been found and the treasure hunt ended. We immediately created a new treasure hunt to carry on the tradition of hope, adventure and friendship that Forrest Fenn had inspired in us with his treasure hunt. Through a Go Fund Me campaign and the generous donations of searchers, especially our greatest benefactor, Albert Moran (Lakolya), we have put together a treasure of cash, jewels, and collectibles worth nearly $10,000. Toby has told the story of A Gypsy's Kiss many times over the years and it is the perfect fit for a treasure story since it includes the same themes of hope, adventure and belonging inherent in our community ideals. This book is based on a true story from the life of Toby Michael Younis. You may recognize family members and friends he met on his journey. These people have passed on and are lovingly remembered within these pages. A few of his classmates, teachers and mentors have been changed and their stories and personalities merged. Some of the events happened just as told, others have fictionalized components or contain events that happened at other times in Toby's life.
