About BestScope BS-8030B Gemological Binocular Zoom

The BestScope BS-8030B Gemological Binocular Zoom Microscope has a pair of 10x super widefield eyepieces, a 1x-4x zoom objective, brightfield and darkfield halogen and fluorescent illumination, and a gem clamp. The binocular head has a fixed inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and 360-degree rotation capability to provide a more comprehensive view and enable sharing. The objective has 90.5mm working distance (WD) and 22-5.5mm field of view (FOV) for examining specimens. A gemological microscope uses transmitted and reflected light to view gemstones. The microscope has brightfield upper (episcopic) illumination that reflects light off the specimen for enhanced visibility of opaque objects, and lower (diascopic) illumination that transmits light up through the specimen for enhanced visibility of translucent and transparent objects. It includes a darkfield attachment. Brightfield (BF) illumination allows the specimen to absorb light, resulting in a dark image on a light background, and Darkfield (DF) illumination reflects light off the specimen, resulting in a light image on a dark background. The halogen upper and lower light sources provide bright light in a concentrated path. The fluorescent upper light source provides cool, white light for observing specimens as they would appear in their natural environment. A gem clamp is used to secure specimens.SpecificationsHeadBinocularMagnification range10x-40xEyepieces (22mm)SWF10xObjectives1x-4x (WD 90.5mm, FOV 22-5.5mm)Light sourcesHalogen (12V/10W), fluorescent (10W)Illumination typeBrightfield, darkfieldPower110VMicroscopes are instrumen
