About CBGB OMFUG Masters: Live June 28, 2002 Bowery

That 1998 show was called I Want to Take You Higher Psychedelic Era 1965-1968 at the Fillmore West on May 10th 1997. This was for a national tour starting in SF for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Everyone of the the bands on that bill played 3 songs - that's all. It was the short beginning of putting some of the original guys back together. We did a few more shows after that for about a year and then decided it wasn't going anywhere. Old feelings from the past arose and reasons why the band broke up in the first place came into play. We had some bigger shows coming on the east coast so we decided to hook up with Toby Gray and band members he knew and the rest was history. Our gig at The Goldmine in Aug. 2000 was pretty special since it marked the first time we played with our new (and currect) lineup: Toby Gray on Bass, Val Fuentes on Drums, Gary Thomas on Keyboards & recording equipment, Rob Espinosa on Guitar and of course Linda on vocals with me on vocals and violin, as always. We were very excited about playing together and felt the magic of the music we were creating and recreating from our early days in the sixties and seventies, There was, and still is, a definite connection which has kept us together for the last 15yrs. We got signed with Fantasma Music Agency not long after this gig and played all over the US ever since and made several recordings along the way. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all of you who have stuck with us all these years. It's had its ups and downs - mostly ups, thank god! We are all still in good health and raring to go to keep entertaining you as best we can. As an additional thank you we've included the 4 original demos we recorded in 1968 to get our deal with Columbia Records. Hope you enjoy them! - David LaFlamme 2014
