Badoux is regarded as one of the pioneers in presenting Andean music to North American audiences through his work in the early 1970's with the Montreal-based music ensemble Los Quinchamali, and later as the co-founding director of the group Sukay through the mid-80's. With fellow Andeanist Francy Vidal, Badoux formed the performing ensemble Chaskinakuy in 1985, committed to cultivating a deeper appreciation among audiences for this multifaceted musical tradition. Since its founding, Chaskinakuy has toured extensively throughout the U.S., in Switzerland, and in Canada, performing in concerts, festivals, university lecture series, and in collaboration with music, theater, and dance ensembles in California, New York and Pennsylvania. Musicians and music educators, Badoux and Vidal have presented their popular educational programs and workshops to more than a quarter-million students nationwide. The duo is currently featured in the 2002 Schirmer Books CD and college textbook entitled, "Worlds of Music: An Introduction to the Music of the World's Peoples, 4th Edition". Since 1995, Badoux and Vidal have collaborated with musician/composer Daniel Zamalloa in concert performances and in traditional celebrations. On Peruvian violin, mandolin and guitar, he joins them on their recording, "A Flor de Tierra". Badoux and Vidal have produced 3 recordings on the Chaskinakuy label, "A Flor de Tierra" (2002), "Cosecha" (1993), and "Music of the Andes" (1988).
