The nitinol #1 wire has a super-elastic temper, light or dark oxide finish, precision tolerance, and meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM F2063 specifications. Nitinol #1 provides corrosion resistance and has a super-elastic temper, which is spring like and ensures that the wire returns to its original shape after bending. The material is nonmagnetic and can be heated to a certain temperature to enable shape-memory characteristics. The oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance.
