BLS2K8G4S26BFSD is a 16GB Kit consisting of (2) 8GB DDR4 Laptop modules that operates at speeds up to 2666 MT/s and has a CL16 latency. It is an Unbuffered SODIMM. It conforms to the industry standard DDR4 SODIMM layout of 260 pins and is compatible with systems that take DDR4 2666MT/s SODIMM memory. The parts are compatible with the systems, and will run at the speed that the system is capable of –(2400MT/s in these cases). The 2666MT/s speed is not guaranteed due to other factors of individual systems as mentioned above. DRAM is backwards compatible, so even if a system will only run at 2400 speed, we still list the 2666 as compatible with it because it will clock down and work at the 2400 speed. If we didn’t use backward compatibility as an additional basis for compatibility, systems that only support up to 2133MT/s for example, would have no compatible parts listed as available (since we no longer manufacture 2133 speed), even though the 2400 will work. Depending on the customer’s system model,they can check BIOS/UEFI for an XMP switch,and enable that if they have it.If not, then the speed the system defaults to will be where they are at.
