About Sprague Theobald Photography
Sprague Theobald fell in love with photography the day his mother bought a copy of U.S. Camera in the mistaken belief it was a magazine documenting the wildly embarrassing moments seen on the popular TV show, Candid Camera. The only candid moments in the magazine were the black and white photographs of nude women. Needless to say, this captured the attention of ten-year-old Sprague. But what also fascinated him were the camera settings used to take each photograph that were printed alongside the artistic poses. By spending hours in his room poring over the magazine, he taught himself, among other things, the basics of photography. And once he figured out what a f-stop was, a camera has never been more than an arm’s length away throughout his varied and adventurous life. This short book tells that story and more alongside some of Sprague’s favorite pictures.
