Drill straight and leveled at 3" into existing hole. (Pre-drilling with smaller bit will help with accuracy) 2.) Using provided Torx bit-screw the ZZem Screw into new hole, stopping slightly wood surface. 3.) Replace hardware, use provide Phillips bit and #9 hinge screws. ZZem Screw is also designed to use use the same #9 hinge screws to match your hardware finish, like bronze, stainless steel. Go to local hardware store and ask for the #9 hinge screws in your finish if the brass screws don't match your finish. A simple, easy and permanent! solution in just minutes.
