An Americanized adaptation of a Church of England monastic order, Companions vow to study social justice concerns e.g. the gritty realities of factory workers' lives, racial injustice, and environmental exploitation-as focus for their spiritual growth Companionship community, and prayers of intercession. This study ends with the 1984 centennial. Adelynrood, 'mother house' of the Society, continues into the present as a place of retreat and varied conferences.
