About REED Instruments SD-4307 SD Series

The Reed SD-4307 portable multiparameter meter provides electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, and temperature readings for water quality testing applications, and has automatic temperature compensation and an LCD screen. This meter has automatic temperature compensation (ATC) for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures, and provides single or multi-point calibration to a standard conductivity value. The backlit, 38mm x 52mm (H x W) LCD screen provides clear readings in bright or dim lighting. (H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right.) The electrode housing is made of carbon for durability and long life. The meter has an integrated SD memory card slot to enable automatic or manual data logging with a sampling time between 1 second and 9 hours. It has a USB 2.0 port and RS-232 interface to allow data transfer to a computer. It has a data hold function and can record the recent maximum and minimum readings for later review. The unit operates on six 1.5V AA batteries, and can be set to turn off automatically after a short period of inactivity to conserve battery life. It has a low-battery indicator that signals when the battery needs to be replaced. It comes with a probe, a hard-sided carrying case, and instructions. This meter is suitable for water testing applications in hydroponics, fresh water systems, and aquaculture.SpecificationsConductivity range (autoranging) and resolution0 to 200.0μS with resolution of 0.1μS0.2 to 2.000mS with resolution of 0.001mS2 to 20.00mS with resolution of 0.01mS20 to 200.0mS with resolution of 0.1mSConductivity accuracy+ or - (2% of the full scale + 1d) at 23 degrees C + or - 5 degrees CSalinity range and resolution0 to 12% salt (% weight) with a resolution of 0.01%Salinity accuracy0.5% salt valueTDS (total dissolved solids) range and resolution0 to 132ppm with resolution of 0.1ppm132 to 1,320ppm with resolution of 1ppm1,320 to 13,200ppm with resolution of 10ppm13,200 to 132,000ppm with resolution of 100ppmTDS accuracy+ or - (2% of the full scale + 1d) at 23 degrees C + or - 5 degrees CTemperature range and resolution0 to 50 degrees C/0 to 122 degrees F with resolution of 0.1 degree C/0.1 degree FTemperature accuracy+ or - 0.8 degrees C/1.5 degrees FDisplay38mm x 52mm (H x W) LCD with backlightPower6 AA batteriesWeight515g/1.13lb.DimensionsMeter: 177 x 68 x 45mm/7.0 x 2.7 x 1.9 inches (H x W x D)Probe: 22mm Dia. x 120mm LengthH is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. A multiparameter meter is a benchtop or handheld device that can take multiple readings on a single sample. It measures parameters such as the pH level (acidity or alkalinity of a substance), conductivity (the amount of salts or other compounds present in water), dissolved oxygen (DO, the amount of oxygen in a liquid), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS, anything present in water other than the pure water molecule and suspended solids), salinity, resistivity, and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Applications for multiparameter meters include water testing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, winemaking, water-treatment plants, and acquaculture. Devices with a benchtop body are often used for indoor laboratory use or in a manufacturing setting; handheld, portable devices are typically used for fieldwork. Sensors are used with a meter to measure the parameters of a substance.Reed Instruments manufactures test and measurement equipment such as pressure gauges, electrical testers, temperature and humidity instrumentation, and inspection instruments. The company, founded in 2004, is headquartered in Wilmington, NC.What's in the Box?Reed SD-4307 portable multiparameter meterElectrode probeCarrying caseInstructions
