Product structure: deviation prism + cover + calibration bolt + optical system pipeline +eyepiece (diopter adjustment ring) Salinity meter designed to measure salt solution, the concentration of salty food, seawater and saltwater. Features with two scale line to directly read the specific gravity and concentration of tthe solution (measures with parts per thousand).Very hepful in agriculture, aquarium creature, food manufacturing and field operation applications, increased automatic temperature compensation system is especially ideal for field operation. Measuring range: salinity: 0-100 ‰, Specific Gravity : 1.000 to 1.070 Minimum scale: salinity: 1 ‰, Specific Gravity : 0.001 Resolution: salinity: ±1‰, Specific Gravity : 0.001 mm Usage: Open the cover, wipe the prism with a soft cloth and check it carefully. Take few drops of the solution to be examined , put it on the prism, gently close the cover to avoid generating bubble, and make the solution over the surface of the prism. Hold the light plate up to the light source or brightness and look the field through eyepiece, turn the eyepiece to adjust the handwheel, make blue and whilte dividing line of the field clear. Scale value of the dividing line is the concentration of the solution. Correction: Drop two drops of purified water on the blue lens, gently lid the cover, and make sure there is no bubble if you don't use the salinity meter for a long time or find its reading with deviation. Look through strong light, if the blue and white dividing line position at zero, it indicates that the salinometer is accurate, no need correction.
