Review Roasting, Brewing, and More by Stella Perry is a non-fiction guide on all things related to coffee. And truly, it is all things. Perry begins with a history of coffee and its origin story, taking readers back to the beginning (it's not where you think or have been led to believe at all), then goes into how coffee becomes actual coffee, with a detailed description of everything from growth to harvest. The coffee is then roasted--which is also described after some background on the trade itself. For the more adventurous reader, Perry has an entire section on the many methods that work to roast green coffee beans by yourself. The book steps into the full grind with chapters on how to buy coffee, how to grind it, what water to use, and a whole host of other tips and tricks to maximize the coffee-drinking experience. Stella Perry is my own personal hero. I am a self-proclaimed coffee junkie and even go so far as to use a not-so-fancy aluminum French press I picked up in--okay, stay with me here--Italy, but until this moment, I didn't know I was doing it all wrong. Thirty years of drinking coffee that was mediocre; the curse shattered by Roasting, Brewing, and More. I love how Perry puts everything on the table, compiling this guide in clear and concise chapters which are further broken down into easy-to-find sections. This is a book that will have pride of place on my kitchen bookshelf and I'd highly recommend it to coffee drinkers and lovers all over the world. ~ Reviewed By Jamie Michele for Readers' Favorite ★★★★★ Everything you need to know about coffee, from bean to cup!
