Hachiya is an assistant professor in the Education Leadership Department at Kansas State University. He spent twenty-seven years in Kansas as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. He now teaches courses to aspiring administrators in ethics, leadership for diverse populations, and the principalship―both at Kansas State University and at school district partnership leadership academies. He joins the team of Dunklee and Shoop for the first time in this third edition of their best-selling school law book, helping them continue their efforts to provide pre- and inservice school administrators and others with the knowledge they need to be effective risk managers and educators.Among his research interests are student rights and school safety, and he has made presentations to Kansas United School Administrators, the University Council for Educational Administration, the Education Law Association, and to undergraduate education majors concerned about school violence issues.
