This book is a collection of essays written in honor of Japanese-born theologian Kosuke Koyama, upon his retirement as Rockefeller Professor of Ecumenics and World Christianity at Union Theological Seminary in New York. For over thirty years Koyama has been one of the key architects of the ecumenical endeavor to contextualize the Christian gospel, particularly in Asia. A keen observer of the shifting global Christian landscape Koyama has helped the churches to respond to these changes and contributed to a theology that reflects the texture of daily life in its religious and cultural diversity.
