About the Author Marilyn Lundberg was born and spent the first forty-seven years of her life in Minnesota. She began her Entrepreneurial career as an independent contractor doing secretarial work for firms in the Twin City area, and she also started up a Dog Grooming business. Then, she and her current husband founded and still own Severlund Inc., doing business as Viking Lawn Service, and Viking Management Services. Plus they were licensed to do adult foster care on their small Prior Lake farm. In 1998 they moved to Texas and started up a real estate business, got their licenses, and began fixing up and flipping houses. In 2008, they began caring for elderly women in their home, and eventually opened up a second residential care home for men, under Shady Oaks Manor LLC. Marilyn is blessed to be a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. Together they have four children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with another baby on the way. She and her husband Rick reside on a small farm, in the Texas Hill Country north of San Antonio. They continue to care for elderly men with dementia and brain trauma, with the help of three full-time, live-in caregivers in Shady Oaks Manor. Rick and Marilyn care for their residents all the way through hospice.
