This is especially common in pools with salt chlorine generator. The zinc puck can be attached to the inside or outside of any skimmer basket. Just push the plastic screw through one of the holes in the zinc puck and through the basket. Skimmer basket zinc puck features: Protects against metal corrosion. Protects against discoloration. Easy to install. Zinc anode usage tips: 1. Use zip ties if you don't want to mount the sacrificial anode permanently into the skimmer. 2. There is no difference in the effect of the zinc anode whether you install it inside or outside the skimmer basket. 3. Sacrificial anodes don't rust, but they deteriorate. Depending on your pool water's pH, the sacrificial anode can last for several pool seasons. 4. You'll need to replace the sacrificial anode when reduces to half its original size.
