About the Author Dr. Hiroaki Kobayashi is Professor Emeritus at the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, and is past president of a number of academic institutes in Japan and several international maritime institutes. He has developed a number of standard training courses on bridge team management and instructor training courses on maritime education which have been authorized by Class NK, a member of the International Association of Classification Societies.
