This variety is even hinted at in the bands name, (OFFWHITE is a nod to the Kalama brothers half Hawaiian/half Swiss-German ancestry, as well as the color of their very first guitars). The entire album, save a few additional vocal and instrumental parts here and there, was created in a live atmosphere. About the Artist OFFWHITE is bringing their brand of Soul Rock straight from the broken heart of Southern California. OFFWHITEs music is a calming breath of air to those who miss songs about devotion and delight. OFFWHITE was founded in high school by the Kalama brothers, Kai (Vocals, Guitar) and Ryan (Vocals, Bass), who have sung together since they were children. They formed a keen sense of harmony and melody, which has become the heart of OFFWHITEs sound. Coming from a musical family, music was in their blood. Writing songs since 1996, the Kalama Brothers joined forces with Kent "The Professional" Graves in 2002, a seasoned and experienced drummer from the San Diego music scene. The addition of Mike Horvath on guitar, a former band mate of Kents, solidifies the OFFWHITE sound with his "no nonsense" rock attitude. The dynamics and power of Kents drumming, Mikes guitar ferocity combined with the Kalamas firm songwriting and vocals finally brought the real OFFWHITE sound to fruition. OFFWHITE shapes the old into the new. The energy and power of The Who, mixed with the tenderness and soulful vocals of Marvin Gaye. One can also hear the pop sensibility of Elvis Costello, along with the sheer on-stage madness of At-The-Drive-In. All these influences contribute to the unique sound of OFFWHITE.
