About Truvativ/SRAM Team GXP English Bottom Bracket Gray

Amazon.com This SRAM GXP Team Bottom Bracket supports SRAM road or Truvativ mountain cranksets, and is identical to the bottom brackets used in the popular Force and X0 groups. SRAM's bottom brackets, while interchangeable between all SRAM and Truvativ cranksets, are brand-specific, meaning they can only be installed with SRAM cranks. The key element that makes them different from a Shimano or FSA bottom bracket is that the left side bearing has a smaller diameter to mate with the stepped spindle of the SRAM crank. This design allows the inner race of the left side bearing to be captured between the crankarm and the spindle, effectively locating the crank. The right side bearing "floats" on the spindle, handling only radial loads as you pedal. The SRAM design optimizes bearing load, minimizes drag, and boosts durability. It captures the left side bearing between the spindle and the left crankarm, while allowing the drive-side bearing to float axially on the spindle, thereby eliminating the necessity to side-load bearings during adjustment. The simplicity of installation is refined -- once it is tightened to the proper specifications, you are all set. The GXP system uses two bicycle-specific cartridge bearings, and eight seals for a smooth, long-lasting ride. Warranty SRAM products include a limited two-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. About SRAM Bicycle component maker SRAM makes high-quality, technically advanced parts and accessories, based on a philosophy of perpetual, incremental enhancements that collectively add up to superior performance. Casual riders will note SRAM components' reliability, dependability, and standard qualities one would expect. But it's the passionate cyclists -- those who spends hours in the saddle -- who tend to truly appreciate the company's quality and craftsmanship. SRAM Corporation began with the goal of creating the best possible shifting system, and ultimately innovated cycling with the advent of the Grip Shift. To sustain the resulting growth, SRAM invested in Sachs Bicycle Company and built a state of the art manufacturing facility in Schweinfurt Germany. The company then joined forces with RockShox suspension, and expanded its line into brakes, bottom brackets, and cranksets by partnering with Avid and Truvativ. Having created an end-to-end bicycle drive train company, SRAM's mission today is to keep working to create what they term "the ultimate ride."
