The BEST Scout Mount Available for the US Standard Military M1 Garand ! US Made Extrusion, Machining, Clamp & Barrel Key. None of the mounting screws touch your rifle - A soft barrel key fits in a machined recess in the mount, between the mount body and the rifle barrel. The saddle clamp is placed under the barrel and attached to the mount body with the supplied screws. The set screws bed the mount from the top. Mount is tapered to fit the taper of the barrel The Clamp is tapered for the taper of the barrel
