HOW TO PLAY - Wooden Garden Skittle Game The nine skittles are arranged in a square (with the Kingpin in the center) at the end of an alley / playing area so that the sides of the square are diagonal to the edges of the alley. However an open playing area is fine. Mark a start line 7.5 meters to the front skittle from where the balls will be thrown. Each skittle is worth 3 points and in each turn, each player has 2 throws to knock all the skittles down. The red pin is the KINGPIN, which needs to be knocked down in each turn. One turn starts with all the skittles standing and consists of two throws. The ball must be rolled the length of 7.5 meters, NOT THROWN THROUGH THE AIR. If in the first or second throw, all the skittles are knocked down, they are all reset for next turn. So the maximum score in one turn is 3 points x 9 skittles = 27 points. In one of the two turns, the KINGPIN needs to toppled, otherwise, no score is given in this turn. So it would be theoretically possible to knock down the other 8 skittles with two balls and score no points. The game is played by two teams who play a series of legs. In a leg, each player is allowed one turn of two balls. The total number of the points scored by each member of the team is added up and the team with the highest score wins the leg. The team who manages to win five legs first wins the match.Two players can also enjoy the game by alternatively having a turn, the one who scores 101 points first, wins.
