Strength-tempered springs ride up and down inside a barrel which repels dents and rust. Riding on top, tough tips that resist chipping. The strength of the foil barrel shows in the tightening to the blade. At the same point where a weaker French barrel may split, this one sits tight. The success of design shines clearly in the murky world of the new timings. With a broad tip boasting the largest allowable surface area (larger than French), these foil points conform to all new FIE regulations. Not all points do, nor all French. This not nit-picking. What this failure means in practice is that certain non-conforming points will not function well with certain machines. That is, the light may not go on when you hit.
