Wet as Sop is the first of five books based on journals written by Amanda Stephenson. The century-old, hand written journals give a detailed description of rural life in Crawford County, Illinois, from 1890 to 1919. This is a life without electricity, telephones, or automobiles. It is a life where neighbors visit often and help and share with each other. It is a life where parents are not afraid to let their children walk to school, where peddlers and tramps sleep in the barn, where all chickens are free-range, and all food is organic with no preservatives or additives.
