This book is divided into three parts that review in turn viscoelasticity, structural relaxation, and thermal stresses in simple composites. The theory of relaxation phenomena is presented in sufficient detail to permit calculation of the properties of glass, and the stresses that result from thermal expansion mismatch between glass and elastic (ceramic or metal) components to which the glass is attached.
