This emblematic concert occured when Astor Piazzolla's music was at its high point, during his Sexteto European tour in 1989 and 1990. This recording takes place at his Moulin Musique performance in Lausanne, Switzerland on November 4, 1989. This concert was recorded by the Suisse Romande Radio to be broadcast during the holidays. The musicians who join Piazzolla on this recording formed an exciting dream-team and today are all major stars in the Buenos Aires Tango scene. This concert program is designed around Piazzzolla's compositions of this period, when his New Tango had reached maturity: Tanguedia III from the movie Tango, El Exilio de Gardel, Mumuki, dedicated to his wife Laura, as well as his most famous tune, Adios Nonino, dedicated to his grandfather, among others.
