GREEN DAY ALL ACOUSTIC BROADCASTS Having released a trio of Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum albums in the mid-1990s, Green Day s Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod all featured the band experimenting with musical styles that had taken them out of their traditional pop/punk comfort zone. They had also toured endlessly during this time, and performed at events such as Lollapalooza and Woodstock 94. Following this period of intense activity, Green Day were forced to cancel several of their European dates in 1996, citing exhaustion . But later in the year they were back on the road and often performing stripped-back, acoustic shows. This CD features two such performances, recorded at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, California, for FM radio broadcast, during which they played a host of their very finest songs completely unplugged. The CD also includes a number of bonus cuts from a secret show at King s College, London, performed the same year.
