This recording of Der Waffenschied is the last gem in the highly acclaimed Electrola Collection series of comic operas by Albert Lortzing on Electrola, following Undine, Zar und Zimmermann und Der Wildschütz. It is led by Hermann Prey, Lotte Schädle, Kurt Böhme and Fritz Ollendorff under the baton of Fritz Lehan. Lortzing: Der Waffenschmied is part of the Electrola Collection, a series that celebrates the historic record label, Electorla. Electrola was part of the EMI Classics unit in Germany best known for their rich catalogs, masterful artists and the iconic gramophone trademark.
