Within its 112 pages, one has at one's disposal, hundreds of full-color hand-drawn original illustrations of shells, sea glass, seeds, and various flotsam along with interesting bits of information about each one. Presented in alphabetical order, the objects are not presented categorically, yet randomly, just as they are found on the beach. Its size, at 4 x 4.5 x 1-inch thick makes it easy to carry in one's pocket during exploratory outings on the beach. The last section of the book entitled My Own Collection includes charts for noting time, location, tide and weather and documenting and illustrating your own finds. Another handy feature of the book is that the back of each of page is left blank for you to make additional notes, sketches, etc. of your treasures.
