Havana 500 Anniversary is a way of saying to the city of 500 years, THE CITY OF HALF MILLENNIUM, and the city that has, within and outside its limits, with the committed and constant legion of its children and admirers. Honor and glory to our Havana, which belongs to all Cubans. Recognized is its old architecture, unsurpassed in the New World discovered by Columbus. Those of us from the interior of Cuba were led by our parents and other relatives to contemplate the capital's beauties and to portray ourselves in front of the Capitol, a symbol of our nationality, pride of our architecture and building that reminded us of the powers of the State. In the current geographical situation in which we live, when we do not physically visit Havana, but we read and enjoy the collection of materials and data that Rodríguez put in our hands, we thank God again for Havana and those immortal memories. When we review your data, and learn others we did not know, we feel more Cuban than before, although we have never ceased to be. When we take advantage of that timely look of Frederic Mialhe, we feel something that words cannot describe. We are what our history has allowed, and we accept it. And so we review our architecture, assisted by magnificent and timely explanations that are describing the details of walks and squares, palaces and cathedrals, major or minor buildings that constitute that iconic wealth that centuries have been forced to respect and that the complete panorama of our history confirms. Welcome the worthy effort, appreciated their values and encouraged by their example, we greet compatriot Rodríguez, we embrace him spiritually on the date that includes all of us, Havanans and provincials, from the countryside and the city, in his territory and outside of it, Cubans everybody. Habana 500 Aniversario es una forma de decirle presente a la ciudad de los 500 años, LA CIUDAD DE MEDIO MILENIO, y a la urbe que cuenta, dentro y fuera de sus límites, con la comprometida y constante legión de sus hijos y admiradores. Honor y gloria a nuestra Habana, que nos pertenece a todos los cubanos. Reconocida sea su vieja arquitectura, insuperada en el Nuevo Mundo descubierto por Colón. Los que somos del interior de Cuba éramos llevados por nuestros padres y otros familiares a contemplar las bellezas capitalinas y a retratarnos frente al Capitolio, símbolo de nuestra nacionalidad, orgullo de nuestra arquitectura y edificio que nos recordaba los poderes del Estado. En la actual situación geográfica en que vivimos, cuando no visitamos físicamente La Habana, pero leemos y disfrutamos la recopilación de materiales y datos que Rodríguez puso en nuestras manos, damos de nuevo gracias a Dios por La Habana y esos recuerdos inmortales. Cuando repasamos sus datos, y aprendemos otros que desconocíamos, nos sentimos más cubanos que antes, aunque nunca hemos dejado de serlo. Cuando aprovechamos ese oportuno vistazo de Frederic Mialhe sentimos algo que no pueden describir palabras. Somos lo que nuestra historia ha permitido y lo aceptamos. Y así repasamos nuestra arquitectura, asistidos por explicaciones magníficas y oportunas que nos van describiendo los detalles de paseos y plazas, palacios y catedrales, edificios mayores o menores que constituyen esa riqueza icónica que los siglos se han visto obligados a respetar y que el panorama completo de nuestra historia confirma. Bienvenido el digno esfuerzo, apreciados sus valores y alentados por su ejemplo, saludamos al compatriota Rodríguez, le abrazamos espiritualmente en la fecha que nos incluye a todos, habaneros y provincianos, del campo y la ciudad, en su territorio y fuera de él, cubanos todos.
