Roses Prick for Sport - Revised Edition is a collection of mostly lyrical poetry exploring the poet's plight to find a healthy balance between realism and idealism. Subjects include love and heartbreak, social commentary, disillusionment, the power of the performing arts, and the complexities of human relationships. Jen's thought-provoking verses often employ humor and her style is most notably influenced by the late, Pulitzer-Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay. Poems from this debut collection were originally penned between 1991 and 2005.
