About 2.5 Inch STEEL Garage Door Opener Chain Cable Idler
This pulley is steel and has a bronze bushing. Compared to the plastic OEM part, which weighs about 1/2 ounce, this pulley weighs 7 ounces and can handle 700 pounds or more. It is 2.5" in diameter with a half inch hole, same as the OEM part. It will accept cable sizes up to 1/4". It does not have the raised edges around the hole, so I include 2 greased washers so the pulley does not rub against the bracket. This pulley will fit into the bracket you are currently using and is held in place with the bolt and nut you already have. I am not associated with the garage door opener manufacturer in any way. I'm just a homeowner who has had two of the plastic pulleys break and I decided to come up with a more permanent solution.
