This motor will work for many round and rectangular dampers, so long as the motor you are replacing has the number 38398L, 37729L, or 37339L on the side of the motor. DO NOT order unless you see one of the numbers listed above as there are many motors that look like this from the underside

Please make sure you are replacing a motor with the number 38398L, 37729L, or 37339L. Many yellow wired Synchron motors look alike. This motor only replaces motors with the numbers listed above.

Please note that this motor number ends with an "L", which means it turns to the left. Please ensure that the motor you are replacing turns counterclockwise.

This Synchron motor is 24 volts, has short cross bars on either side of the round damper shaft for a total length (including the damper shaft) of .44" and a long "cuff" at the bottom of the damper shaft .63" in length. Other Synchron motors are 120 volts, have rectangular damper shafts, differing sized or no cross bars, and differing widths and lengths of "cuffs" at the bottom of the damper shaft. This motor will work for many round and rectangular dampers, SO LONG AS the motor you are replacing has the number 38398L, 37729L, or 37339L stamped on the side of the motor. DO NOT order unless you see one of the numbers listed above as there are many similar looking yellow wired Synchron motors. This motor will not work for you unless the numbers match those listed above, even if it looks exactly like your motor. *This motor may replace your old motor IF the drive or output shaft is identical to motor pictures, the 5 digit number ends with the letter 'L" (meaning left hand rotation), and it's 24volts ac. Please message us through Amazon to ensure that you are purchasing the correct motor. This same motor has been used on other types and brands of dampers, including Enerstat, Lennox, Jackson Controls, Robert Shaw and others. Please do be aware some dampers use similar motors but the shaft dimensions are different, and that's why we include those dimensions here. If you are looking for a replacement motor on a spring return rectangular damper purchased from us at www.RetroZone.com, THIS IS the correct motor. For other applications, this motor says on its side "645 24V 60HZ 6W 60RPH 38398L-5-6-46". A yellow label may also be attached that says "P/N 78G1001 24VAC .44 amp 60HZ" This motor is designed to operate on 24 volts ac only.
