Ardex 8+9 Rapid Waterproofing and Crack Isolation Compound is a top-tier, two-component, solvent-free, cement-based membrane. It comprises an acrylic-based liquid compound and a Portland cement-based powder, ensuring easy application with a paint roller or brush to create a highly flexible, waterproof coating. It safeguards against topside water damage and establishes an exceptional bonding layer for tile and stone thinset mortar adhesive (tile adhesive). An installation diminishes the risk of efflorescence, making it well-suited for use in commercial and residential bathrooms, shower, and kitchen before tile, stone, or even swimming pool installations. Ardex 8+9 shows its versatility in applications on interior and exterior floors and walls, ensuring straightforward application with a roller. This solvent-free blend of Portland compound provides the ultimate bond, while also aiding in preventing efflorescence from the substrate. This flooring underlayment is suitable for ceramic tiles, marble tile, granite tile, porcelain tile, and stone tile. It also creates uncoupling membrane layer for shower wall, floor leveling and forms water barrier underlayment. A waterproofing membrane could be formed even in hard-to-reach places (bathtub surround, balconies, and other floor underlayment). The recommended mixing ratios for paintable consistency are 1 gallon of Ardex 8 per 9 lb. of Ardex 9 or, for smaller batches, 1 part Ardex 8 to 1 part Ardex 9 by volume. For caulking consistency, the ratios are 2/3 gallon of Ardex 8 per 9 lb. of Ardex 9 or, for smaller batches, 2/3 part Ardex 8 to 1 part Ardex 9 by volume. The coverage is approximately 100 sq. ft.
