About SimSafari - PC/Mac

Review If your kids wore out SimPark, they'll love this trans-Atlantic promotion to managing the ecosystem of a wildlife park in the African savanna. From the masterful makers of the SimCity series, this problem-solving, nature-and-science game challenges children to weigh and mediate conflicting interests and requirements of wildlife. Choosing to start their own park or try one of the seven missions, kids have to make decisions affecting the nature park, a tourist camp and a native village-from balancing the financial budgets, to balancing bio-systems. Two levels of play take care of different ages of siblings. Accessible behind the fun and games is a databank of detailed information about the plant and animal species on the savanna. One warning: Because of the detailed animation and movements on-screen, the program requires a jungle's worth of hard-drive-about 55 megs. (Don Oldenburg, Parents' Choice®) -- From Parents' Choice® Amazon.com SimSafari lets you develop a balanced ecosystem by creating a park filled with diverse African plants and animals. Team up with a neighboring village and build a flourishing safari camp. You can place selected animals and plants in your park, as well as modify the terrain with a bulldozer and water tools. But remember, adding water costs money. And keep in mind that animals need food, so make sure grass-eating animals have grasses and shrubs. Carnivores will require other animals to eat for food. It's your job to make sure the delicate balance of nature is maintained.
