The courage he gains from the ski instructor and his family provides just the boost he needs. Kevin learns that bravery comes from love, kindness, and encouragement from those you trust. Review I Can Ski! is the wonderful story of Kevin conquering his fears and learning a new skill. Author Claire McGee explores techniques for dealing with fears that most children--and their parents--can relate to. Children will learn valuable skills for dealing with fears in this wonderful story about skiing. The artist creates beautiful illustrations with lots of blending and tones. Author Claire McGee has written a relatable book for children--actually anyone--in dealing with their jitters. Barbara Fanson for Readers' Favorite (5-Stars) I Can Ski! by Claire McGee is a beautifully written children's picture book adventure, perfect for a diverse audience. Ms. McGee takes her characters on a journey to discover how to deal with anxiety over new things with a more positive mindset. Ms. McGee uses her knowledge to help families learn how to address their fears, anxieties, and concerns from a place of understanding. With lovely illustrations, fun characters, and an empowering storyline, this book is perfect for children ages 4-7. Alyssa Elmore for Readers' Favorite (5-Stars) Claire McGee's  I Can Ski! highlights how a young boy is able to master his fears and join the family fun on the Colorado ski slopes. Kids can often miss out on rich and rewarding experiences due to fear of the unknown. Kevin's experiences on the slope will inform his decisions and outlook in the future as well. Harry Aveira's illustrations are superb! I especially loved his artwork featuring the Colorado mountains, and his portrayals of Kevin and the other new skiers learning to descend are realistic and action-packed.  I Can Ski! is most highly recommended.
