About the Author Hugh Warren West is a highly decorated combat veteran of World War II. Following the war, he resumed his career as a school teacher in Ontario, California. He is currently retired. John Scura is a journalist, author and television writer-producer. He was managing editor of the national martial arts magazine Fighting Stars. He also spent many years as a producer of talk-variety television shows hosted by Merv Griffin, Joan Rivers, Arsenio Hall, Pat Sajak, Vicki Lawrence and Tom Snyder.
