About HD-4 Hammered Dulcimer Pickup
Dual Sensor Pickup System for Hammered Dulcimer Compact 1/4" Prewired Output Jack Switchable for Stereo or Mono Output Two Year Warranty Made in Canada The Schatten HD-4 is an updated version of the popular HD-2 hammered dulcimer pickup and is specifically designed for hammered dulcimers. The HD-4 has new smaller and thinner sensors that fit easily under the strings of most hammered dulcimers, and has an updated, more compact jack assembly. The HD-4 is designed to give you unsurpassed response and faithful, natural sound quality. The HD-4 sensors adhere to the soundboard with the supplied double-sided tape. The jack assembly (which can store any excess lead wire from the sensors) mounts securely to the front of the instrument with 3M VHB tape. An internal selector switch within the jack box allows you to choose between mono or stereo output. The HD-4 pickup system provides clean, clear sound reproduction, and has sufficient output to drive most amplifiers directly without a need for a preamp. If you are plugging into a mixer or PA system you may require a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that system. We recommend the Schatten Mini-Pre for single channel output, or the Schatten Mini-Pre 2 dual channel preamp for dual channel (stereo) output. Dulcimer not included.
